Spring 09 Trends

This spring is all about DETAILS! Seen here is a dress from the Spring 09 Marc Jacobs show! Beading, ruffles, pleating, stripes, shear fabric, black and white, red lipstick, smokey eyes, flowy dresses long and short, and prints. One collection I really enjoy is Diane von Furstenburg Don't leave home with out longwear red lipstick! Stained lips is in and you don't have to drink koolaid to get them, CoverGirl has new lip stain markers! I'll have more example pics later!

...because Hammer pants just aren't flattering...at all!

I know the jodhpurs (hammer pants) are a hot new thing on the runway but I will not succumb to this awful unflattering trend. These only and I mean ONLY look good on the runway and on rail thin models seen here at a Fall 08 Phillip Lim show. Don't get me wrong I love Phillip Lim's style and especially his dresses for Spring 09. For now I will be sticking to my colored skinny jeans.

Ushanka!

So I have been looking for a reason to justify buying an ushanka (Russian, furry hate with ear flaps) because I havde always wanted one. Well I finally have my reason, in 8 days I will be moving to upstate New York from south Texas where it NEVER snows! Upstate New York is just as snowy and cold as Mother Russia (I'm Russian if you didn't already know) is. Anyway while I wait for my ushanka to arrive from eBay land I was trying to find proof that I will not be a fashion victim and called a FOOL for wearing it. Well I have found my proof! The Chanel Paris-Moscow fashion show proved that I will be the one with the last laugh! Thanks Chanel!!!

Style Icon of the Month

So recetly I've seen a lot of media coverage for Zooey Deschanel I guess because of the release of "Yes Man" her new movie with comedian Jim Carrey which I have yet to see. Anyways she has great style as everyone knows and there are lots of blogs that talk about her. Also reading the It Girl issue of Nylon there's a spread in there about Miss Deschanel where she talks about her "band" She and Him. Anyway I love her and think shes great so she is my style icon for December...and probably much of January. Thanks for reading!
